Bourbon Vanilla Pecan Butter

Ingredients:

3 cups pecan halves

3 teaspoons brown sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla paste (or vanilla extract)

2 teaspoons bourbon simple syrup (or bourbon)

Instructions:

1. Roast the Pecans: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the pecan halves in a single layer on a baking sheet and roast for 10 minutes, until they are fragrant and slightly darker in color. Let the pecans cool completely.

2. Process the Pecans: Once cooled, place the pecans in a food processor. Process them for a few minutes, pausing to scrape down the sides often. At first, the mixture will be crumbly, but keep processing until it starts to become creamy.

3. Add Flavorings: Once the pecans have a creamy texture, add the brown sugar, vanilla paste (or extract), and bourbon simple syrup (or bourbon). Continue processing, scraping down the sides as needed, until the mixture reaches a smooth and spreadable consistency.

4. Adjust to Taste: Taste the pecan butter and adjust sweetness or flavor as desired. You can add more bourbon or vanilla for a stronger flavor, or additional brown sugar for more sweetness.

5. Store: Transfer the Bourbon Pecan Butter to a jar or airtight container. It can be stored at room temperature for a few days or refrigerated for longer freshness.

Enjoy your Bourbon Pecan Butter on toast, pancakes, or as a delightful dip for fruit or vegetables
